Brighton MCC started on May 19th 2002 after a lot of planning and organising by a group of seven people whom Rev.Debbie Gaston had got together since December 2001. Click here for more about our history. Since then we have continued to grow and worship a God who we believe does not exclude anyone for any reason. Our policy and belief is that we should be a fully inclusive church allowing everyone - regardless of their gender, sexuality, nationality, colour, social status, abilities, age, situation, beliefs or any other factor - to join in worship with us. We meet every Sunday at Portslade United Reform Church. Our services start at 6:00pm and twice a month we have an area for quite prayer or meditation should you desire it. In our services we try to accommodate different styles of worship and different backgrounds offering both contemporary and more traditional elements. and our service usually contains a mixture of worship songs, hymns, readings, a time of prayer and a sermon..
CommunionWe hold an open table just as we believe Jesus did; anyone is welcome to come and share in communion, regardless of whether they are a member of MCC or any other church, whether or not they have been baptised. We use non-alcoholic fruit of the vine so that children and those who do not wish to drink alcohol can also join us, and it is traditional for someone to pray a blessing with you. All we ask is that you are seeking to know more of God, as you perceive God to be. We believe communion is a special and private time and that you should feel comfortable, so if you wish you may request just to take the elements, just to receive a prayer, or to serve yourself.
