As part of our commitment to supporting our local community MCC Brighton is helping to run a number of projects with local organisations. But this is not all we do, MCC Brighton is involved in Pride, TransPride and other events in Brighton and Hove, as well as keeping aware of the needs of the community and helping address those needs where possible. If you have some spare time and are interested in doing something rewarding with it then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Pride 2019- Pride is an important part of MCC Brighton's year, and we look forward to taking part. The opportunity to bring Jesus' message of loving inclusion to so many people is greatly appreciated. Watch this space for news of events!
The Hub – A project that allows homeless people, or those in difficult circumstances to have a shower, get clean clothes, have breakfast, sandwiches and a good lunch, as well as just hanging out and chatting in a safe environment. MCC Brighton provides a Chaplaincy service for the homeless and rough sleepers at The Hub.
Community Lunch Club – Every Sunday a drop-in meal is provided for the homeless & vulnerably housed in Brighton. This is hosted by 5 churches on a rota basis, and we help with the lunch provided by Dorset Gardens Methodist Church every 5th Sunday.
The other churches involved are- Brighthelm, North Road (1st Sunday), All Saints, The Drive (2nd Sunday), One Church, Florence Road (3rd Sunday), and St Lukes, Old Shoreham Road (4th Sunday).
Brighton Community Night Shelter – BCNS is an organisation looking to set up and run an open access night shelter for rough sleepers in Brighton and Hove. The plan is to run a shelter that is open 365 nights a year. This is a great project and a lot of support is needed. MCC Brighton's Pastor Andrew Ramage is a co-founder and the current Chair of this charity.
Street Church - This is part of our outreach to the Street Community and beyond, it is our hope and prayer that no-one is excluded from worshipping God. Come and see us at the purple gazebo, in the Old Steine Gardens, every Wednesday at 4pm. Click here for the baptism of someone we have been supporting.
Street Church Hastings - Since earlier this year we have been working with residents of Hastings to set up an Inclusive Faith Group. Click here for more. As part of that work we have been invited to extend our Street Church Ministry. We launched Street Church Hastings on Friday 23rd November and we will be worshipping in Wellington Place every week. As with Street Church Brighton we hope to make church available to all, and our ethos is
A Church Without Walls, A Faith Without Limits, A Love Without Exceptions.
We will be offering prayer, communion, hot drinks, and fellowship, opposite PoundStretcher, every Friday from 4pm.
Community Office - MCC Brighton's Pastor Andrew Ramage offers Pastoral care, support and advice to the community at the Alcampo Lounge London Road, every Thursday from 12-5pm. If you need to speak to him, call Andrew on 07905 537618.
