Volunteering Opportunities

As part of our commitment to supporting our local community MCC Brighton is helping to run a number of projects with local organisations. Below are a few opportunities that our partners are asking for us to help fill. If you have some spare time and are interested in doing something rewarding with it then please contact andrew@mccbrighton.org.uk

Lunch Positive – We are continuing to support lunch positive every Friday at their lunch club. They are always looking for new volunteers and it is a very worthwhile and rewarding experience, plus you get a very nice lunch. Generally we aim to arrive at 1230 for a lunch at 1pm followed by helping the tidy up. There are also places to assist from about 11am onwards. This all takes place at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church.

The Hub – A project that allows homeless people, or those in difficult circumstances to have a shower, get clean clothes, have breakfast, sandwhiches and a good lunch, as well as just hanging out and chatting in a safe environment.

Brighton Community Night Shelter – BCNS is an organisation looking to set up and run an open access night shelter for rough sleepers in Brighton and Hove. The plan is to run a shelter that is open 365 nights a year. This is a grerat project and a lot of support is needed.

HummingBird - A project that supplies help to children in Calais and Dunkirk camps. They also travel to these camps every few weeks taking clothes, sleeping bags, shoes etc. They are always looking for new ideas and good quality items.

Street Church -  project by MCC Brighton to take church to the streets of Brighton and Hove so that no-one is excluded. Come and see us at the Old Steine, every wednesday at 430pm.
